Smitty: Ain't that the funniest thing you ever saw? Look at his ears! [laughs cruelly, then mockingly makes fun of Dumbo] Nah nah nah! Kid 1: Hey, guys, lookit! Smitty's an elephant! Boys: [laughing as Mrs. Jumbo ignores the boys and hides Dumbo from them] Kid 1: You can't hide him from us. Kid 2: Yeah, his ears are still stickin' out. Kid 1: Come on! Kid 2: We wanna see him! Kid 1: We wanna laugh. Kid 2: Sure, that's what we came for. Smitty: [blows air in Dumbo’s ears] Kid 1: Hey, the biggest slingshot in the world. [pulls at Dumbo's ears] Mrs. Jumbo: [grabs Smitty and spanks him] Smitty: Hey! Cut that out! You're hurting me! Help! Kid 2: Let's get out of here! Ringmaster: [in a tent, talking to Joe the janitor] Have I got an idea! What an idea! Timothy: [to Dumbo, amused] Huh! He never had an idea in his life. Ringmaster: Just visualize: one elephant climbs up on top of another elephant, until finally, all seventeen elephants have constructed an enormous pyramid of pachyderms! I step out! I blow the whistle! The trumpets are trumpeting! Timothy: [eagerly] Yeah! Ringmaster: AND NOW COMES THE CLIMAX...! Joe: [beat] Yeah? What is the climax? Ringmaster: [chuckles and shrugs] I don't know. Timothy: I knew he never had nothin'. Ringmaster: [getting into bed] Well, maybe it comes to me in a vision while I dream. Good night, Joe. Joe: Good night, boss. Timothy: Climax. Climax! Dumbo, you're a "Climax"! I'll be back in a minute; I'm gonna take care of your future!

Ringmaster: Ladies and gentlemen, we will now present for your entertainment, the most stupendous, magnificent, super-colossal spectacle! On this tiny, little, insignificant ball, we will construct for you: a pyramid! Not of wood, not of stone... Catty Elephant: To hear him talk, you'd think he was going to do it. Elephant Matriarch: The stuffed shirt! Ringmaster: ...a pyramid of ponderous, pulsating, PULCHRITUDINOUS… PACHYDERMS! [his shirtfront rolls up, and he pushes it back down] I give you: the elephants.
  • Dialogue

Ringmaster: [After the elephant pyramid has been built] Ladies and gentlemen, you have now seen the impossible accomplished in front of your faces. Seven jungle giants, each one weighing... Elephant Matriarch: [straining under all the other elephants] That windbag! Why doesn't he come to the point?! Ringmaster: And now, I present the world's smallest little elephant, who will spring, from this springboard, to the top of the pyramid, in a grand climax! Ladies and gentlemen, I give you… Dumbo!

Elephant Matriarch: Oh, I never thought I'd live to see the big top fall. Prissy Elephant: Because of that Dumbo, I never can show my face there again. Giddy Elephant: Oh, look at my beautiful tail! Elephant Matriarch: I just like to spank the daylights out of him, I... [raises her trunk from her cast, but the pain stops her, and she lowers her trunk back into the cast] Catty Elephant: Oh, that won't be necessary, dearie. They fixed him good. Elephant Matriarch: What do you mean? Prissy Elephant: What did they do? Giddy Elephant: Did they beat him? Prissy Elephant: What is it, Darling? Giddy Elephant: Tell us! Elephant Matriarch: Come, come, I demand to know! Catty Elephant: Oh, well... they've gone and made him... oh, dear, I just can't say it-- Elephant Matriarch: Out with it! Catty Elephant: Made him a clown. Giddy Elephant: A clown? Prissy Elephant: No! Catty Elephant: Yes! Elephant Matriarch: Oh, the shame of it. Let us take the solemn vow. [all the elephants raise their trunks] F

Specks Crow: Well, looky here! Looky here! Deacon Crow: My, my! Why, this is the most irregular sight I've ever seen! Dopey Crow: [rubbing his eyes] Well, I just can't believe my eyes! Specks Crow: They ain't dead, is they? Fats Crow: [smirks] No. Dead people don't snore... [looks unsure] Or do they? Dandy Crow: What's all the ruckus? C'mon! Step aside, brother! Mmm...What's cookin' 'round here? What's the good news? What's fryin', boys? Specks Crow: Just look down there, brother! Fats Crow: And prepare yourself for a shock! Dandy Crow: [sees Dumbo and Timothy] OHO! Well, hush my beak! Dopey Crow: Go ahead. Wake 'em up, brother. Specks Crow: Yeah, find out what they're doin' up here. Deacon Crow: Yeah. Fats Crow: And ask 'em what they want. Dandy Crow: Okay, boys. Leave it to me. Timothy: [groaning after Dandy Crow blows the smoke from his cigar in his face] Oh, those Pink Elephants... Dandy Crow: Ah! Pink Elephants! Mmmm-mm! [the crows laugh] Timothy: What's so funny? What are you bir

Timothy: [After the crows sing "When I See an Elephant Fly"] All right, you wise birds! This has gone far enough! Dandy Crow: Quiet, gentleman! The Reverend Rodent is gonna ad-dress you. Timothy: You oughta be ashamed of yourselves. A bunch of big guys like you, picking on a poor little orphan like him. Suppose you was torn away from your mother, when you was just a baby? Nobody to tuck you in at nights. No warm, soft, caressing trunk to snuzzle into. How would you like to be left out alone, in a cold, cruel, heartless world? And why, I ask ya? Why?!? Just because he's got those big ears, they call him a freak! The laughingstock of the circus! And when his mother tried to protect him, they throw her into the clink! And on top of that, they made him a clown! Socially, he's washed up! Oh, but what's the use of talking to you cold-hearted birds? Go ahead! Have your fun! Laugh at him! Kick him now that he's down! GO ON! We don't care. [turns away and blows his nose. The crows cry] Come on,
