Telelore

Privacy

Telelore is a film and TV database. You can read all of it without an account. This page says what we keep when you use it.

What we store

If you create an account: your email address, a display name, your language, and a hash of your password if you set one. If you sign in with Google, we keep the email address and the identifier Google gives us. We also store your ratings, favorites, watchlist and the problem reports you send.

A problem report holds your message, the page you were on, your browser and device type, and an error id or a screenshot if you added one.

View counts

When you open a title, person, company or character page, your browser tells us so we can rank popular pages. Counts are kept per hour and per day. To count unique visitors we mix your IP address and browser name with a random value that changes every day, and keep only the resulting hash. We do not store your IP address for this, and it sets no cookie. The counts are deleted after a few days.

To block abuse, our servers count requests per IP address in short-lived memory for a minute or so. This is not a log of what you read.

Cookies

  • A session cookie keeps you signed in. It exists only after you sign in.
  • A language cookie remembers the language you picked.
  • Signing in with Google sets two short-lived cookies that protect that sign-in.

There are no advertising cookies. Analytics cookies are not set before you agree, and today there is no way to agree, so none are set.

Services we use

  • Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from abuse, so it sees your requests. Its Turnstile check runs on sign-in, registration and problem reports to tell people from bots.
  • Sentry receives error reports from the site when something breaks, with technical details such as the page and browser.
  • UptimeRobot checks from the outside that the site is up. It requests our pages and sees no visitor data.
  • OVH hosts our servers and the database.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.

Your data

When you are signed in, you can download everything tied to your account or delete the account at your settings . Deleting removes your profile, ratings, favorites and watchlist. Problem reports you sent stay in our queue, no longer linked to you.

To correct a mistake or ask for something about a person to be changed, use the Report a problem button in the footer.

With your OK we use Google Analytics cookies to count visits. Without it we set none. You can change this at any time from the footer. Privacy notice
