Dr. Petry: [Colonial Army troop marches into the fort with the new 13 colony American flag] Where are you men going? Commander of Colonial Troops: Home. Dr. Petry: Home? Commander of Colonial Troops: The war's over. Cornwallis surrendered to Washington at Yorktown last week. Dr. Petry: [All look at the new flag] So, that's our new flag. The thing we've been fighting for---13 stripes for the colonies and 13 stars in a circle for the Union. Lana: It's a pretty flag, isn't it? Adam Hartman: Hey soldier, let me take that flag a minute! We did a little fightin' around here ourselves. Gilbert Martin: [turns to his wife] Well, I reckon we better be gettin' back to work. There's going to be a heap to do from now on.
